HIV Stops With You. Know Your Status, Know What You Can Do.
HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus passed primarily through sex or by sharing needles through drug use. HIV weakens your immune system, which makes it hard for your body to fight infection and certain illnesses. Anyone is at risk for HIV, regardless of gender, sexuality, or race. Because the virus can easily pass from person to person regardless of sexual identity, gender, and race, it’s considered an epidemic that affects the overall well-being of our community.
Dallas County is on a mission to end it by 2030.

Get a Test.

With 1 in 8 people unknowingly living with HIV, your health is at risk if you don’t know your status. So don’t guess — get a test.
Opt-in

Prevent HIV.

Start PrEP.

PrEP is an HIV prevention medication that is 99% effective in preventing HIV. You can take a daily pill or shot every other month. It’s only for people who don’t have HIV.

Fight HIV.

Treat ASAP.

Treatment works — 86% of Texans who are on antiretroviral therapy (ART) have achieved undetectable status HIV. Undetectable means you stay healthy and you can’t transmit HIV.
